Is It Your Body’s Wisdom—or Trauma?

There is a difference between what the body communicates and what trauma makes that communication mean.

The body may say:

This is alive.
This is complete.
Slow down.
Move away.
Stay present.

But trauma interprets that signal through the survival identity.

It adds fear, urgency, obligation, shame, and old conclusions about what will happen if we listen.

The Body Communicates. Trauma Interprets.

This distinction matters because trauma can distort the body’s guidance in two completely opposite directions.

We may remain inside an experience long after it has completed because the survival identity says:

I should stay.
I made a promise.
A good person would not leave.
I have already invested too much to stop now.

Or we may run from an experience that is still alive because it awakens emotion, vulnerability, desire, or the possibility of losing control.

Then trauma says:

This is dangerous.
Get out.
Shut it down.
Do not let yourself feel this.
